FRANZ JACKSON, legendary Chicago jazz saxophonist, left us to join all the other greats who went before him on May 6, 2008, after living an amazing 95 years.
Franz would have been 96 years old November 1st. The day came and went as most any other, but was bittersweet - a mixture of the wonderful memories he left behind and the emptiness we feel now without him here.
But, Franz would have been the first to shake his head, give his trademark grin and tell us not to be sad. Celebrate. Dance. Sing. SWING!
This message was received from a good friend of Franz's just before November 1st and seems to say it all:
"As Saturday approaches, my friends and I often think of Franz, and the contributions he made to this wonderful country's musical heritage. Let's keep celebrating!!!!"
Please keep checking back to find out more (don't miss out - add your name to the mailing list and you'll get notified automatically)!
